Bio
Zachary Boulanger is a proud East-Coast Canadian. Growing up, he studied classical voice, piano and guitar with esteemed coaches from around New Brunswick. He took his training to the next level through post-secondary in Ontario – working with some of Canada’s industry leaders. He has loved the flexibility that comes with having trained his voice extensively. From jazz standards to country hits, Zach can sing it all. As a trained “triple threat” artist, he can also do it all: Act. Sing. Dance.
Zachary spent two summers (2022/2023) playing in Anne & Gilbert the musical on PEI. In 2023 he performed his understudy track of the lead role Gilbert Blythe. Alongside Sarah Dennison (vocalist) and under direction from Bob Johnston (writer), Zachary completed fresh recordings of the Anne & Gilbert soundtrack in 2024 that will be used as guides for companies mounting the show worldwide. These were completed both with David Rashed Productions – The Studio At The Guild (Charlottetown) and Revolution Studios in (Toronto).
His most recent project has been taking on various roles in the upcoming Syfy channel show “Revival” with Blue Ice Pictures, Hemmings Films, and under direction of Amanda Row. This was his first foray into the Film & TV space, and what better place to do it that right in his home province of New Brunswick.
At Sheridan College, Zach had the opportunity to take part in wonderful projects. One major highlight was Candlewood Lake, a musical in early stages written by Carl Grose and Tim Phillips. Music directed by Oli Jackson, and directed by Denise Serna in 2023 was a workshop of this show that let Zach run wild with characterizations of two main roles while working with some of London West End’s creative team of “The Grinning Man.” Other Sheridan College credits include: Homer in “Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play”, Cody in a workshop of “Believers” written by Kevin Wong and Ali-Joy Richardson, and Admiral Boom/Chairman/Sweep Ensemble in Mary Poppins.
Zachary is a decorated musical competitor, earning a number of awards at the regional and provincial levels. In 2024 he competed at the national level as a music theatre vocalist after successfully winning both his regional and provincial competitions, and earned second place in all of Canada.
